We spent the past couple of nights in Amite, LA.  We had a pool party with a lot of the youth and had an amazing concert the next night.  Even though some of the speakers weren’t working for us the Lord’s presence overwhelmed us and gave the congregation a room full of energy and excitement to worship with us.

We just left Pascagoula, MS and had a blast while we were there.  We were welcomed with open arms by the youth and church staff.  Our stay was filled with fun and excitement when we enjoyed an ice cream social and a walk on the boardwalk.  Thank you Pascagoula for being another amazing group of people to worship with.

FUMC Winter Park and The Florida United Methodist Children’s Home

fumc home

The past couple of days we have spent time with the congregation of FUMC Winter Park as well as students of the Florida United Methodist Children’s Home.  Being able to stay in Winter Park for four nights was a huge blessing.  The people of their congregation were very welcoming and made us all feel at home.  They were generous in many ways, just one example was when they offered each member of the choir a pair of tennis shoes to take with us.  All in all we had a wonderful time while in Winter Park, FL.

Break in Destin

July 8, 2009

Today we had a day full of school and relaxation for the kids and the adults.  After lunch we have started having recreation for the kids to let out a little bit of their energy before they go back into school.  Here is one of the many funny conversations we’ve had take place during our break:

Ian (choir member): What are we doing after lunch?

Nicole (intern): We are having recreation.

Ian (choir member): Like, when God created the world in 7 days.

July 4th Fun- Tifton GA

July 7, 2009

July 4th weekend was definitely the PERFECT American experience! We hung out with the amazing folks of Northside Baptist Church in Tifton: swimming, mosquitoes, pickup trucks and picnic blankets, a private fireworks show, facepainting, horseback rides, fishing and waterballoon tosses. It was amazing… but even more amazing was the worship experience we shared together on Sunday morning. Thank you to Kevin, Casey, Cris and Christa for all that you did to make this weekend a lifetime of memories for our kids. We pray that you were blessed in return!
